Explain the quote    “ Language is a source of misunderstanding”. Despite our usual notion that language is a form of communication that would help individuals understand each other easily, there are instances that language can be confusing and its users would have different interpretations, hence being the source of misunderstanding. For instance, a certain word can have different connotations that can be inferred by an individual or another. Does the user’s own background/experience affect the interpretation of the message? Yes. The user's background or experience can affect the interpretation of a message. This is what we call as "schema theory" which relates the user's background or past knowledge of a specific topic to the piece of information received by him or her. Based on my understanding, I would say that the Internet of Things is an interconnected web of ideas, concepts, objects, and more, put into devices that would interact with each other to receive and provide data. Given the available media that we now have in the world, what are its roles and functions in a democratic society?             In the available media we have today, it serves as the source of information, thoughts, feelings, and emotions of not just one individual, but many. It functions as a database for users like me to share my opinions, knowledge, and more. Since today were are in a democratic society, it also serves as the voice of the oppressed, unlike before when we were experiencing a fascist regime where the press is controlled and we do not have the freedom of expression. Today media gives us this freedom of expression, and with this freedom, we can move forward, not as a nation, but as race of human beings. In what way does media affect your life (personal, professional, academic, social, others)?        Media today is so important that almost everyone is dependent on it. On a personal basis, I learn new things from media and things like opinions, news, idea
